What's the deal with the name?
Tradition typically dictates that the bride take the groom's last name - we have decided that that tradition isn't for us, and we'd like to do something different. To celebrate the beginning of our family, we will both be taking the last name 'Jovie'. 'Jovie' comes from the french phrase 'Joie de vivre', meaning the joy of living. This is a value we hope to live by, and we wanted to reflect that in our lives going forward,Â
As a note, we will both be keeping our 'maiden names' as second middle names; we will be Lyall Andrew Miller Jovie and Megan Eileen Couch Jovie. We thank you for your support and understanding!
